Cyclists can say ‘bonjour’ to a brand-new Cycle Hub at Liverpool ONE as the city prepares to welcome the world’s biggest annual sporting event.
The Cycle Hub on Thomas Steers Way, next to the Sugar House Steps, was unveiled today and offers secure storage for members for up to 50 bicycles, for use by residents, staff and visitors.
The news comes as the Tour de France Grand Départ Trophy Roadshow arrived at Liverpool ONE on Wednesday 23 September, giving people the chance to see the impressive award up close on Paradise Street.
The city will host the finish of stage two of the men’s Tour De France Grand Départ on Saturday 3 July 2027.
Brendan Hattam, Centre Director at Liverpool ONE, pictured below, said: “Excitement is really building ahead of next year’s hugely anticipated Tour de France, and we want to make sure that cycling and sustainability will be at the heart of the city.
“The eyes of the world will be on Liverpool when we welcome this global sporting spectacle next year, and we want to play our part in spreading the positive message that cyclists of all ages and abilities can saddle up and explore this unique city knowing there’s a safe place to store their bikes.
“We’re proud to be part of the community and fabric of the city and we want to make sure we’re offering sustainable choices for guests travelling to visit us.”
